ASFNR John L. Ulmer Translational Trainee Award

The ASFNR is proud to announce a request for applications for the 5th annual John L. Ulmer Translational Trainee Award.

Background

The ASFNR John L. Ulmer Translational Trainee Award was created to honor the memory of John L. Ulmer. Dr. Ulmer was a Professor of Radiology and the Chief of Neuroradiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a past president of the ASFNR. Dr. Ulmer was a physician scientist with a passion for education and clinical translation of advanced neuroimaging techniques to clinical practice. As such, the ASFNR John L. Ulmer Award is meant for a trainee (neuroradiology fellow, radiology or nuclear medicine resident, medical student, graduate student, or undergraduate student) and to reward a research project that will contribute to the clinical translation of advanced neuroimaging techniques.

Details

Each year the ASFNR awards one John L. Ulmer Translational award, which consists of a $1,000 check plus complimentary registration for the annual ASFNR meeting. Prospective applicants can indicate their interest by submitting an abstract for ASFNR’s annual meeting and specifying during the application process that they would like to be considered for the John L. Ulmer Translational Trainee award. Applications will be reviewed by the ASFNR Research Committee, who will select one Awardee.

The Awardee will present during a session at the 2025 ASFNR Meeting on a topic matching their abstract submission. The Awardee will be announced online, and during the annual ASFNR meeting where the applicant will present.
