ASFNR21 COVID19 UPDATE

The ASFNR Planning Committee has prepared the below information to help inform our attendees to mitigate and calm in-person meeting nerves. As we start to get back to in-person meetings, it’s ok to experience some concern around this as we have all become accustomed to virtual events. The document below outlines the current plans of the ASFNR and the Eldorado Hotel to ensure a successful and stimulating meeting.  We recognize that the situation and applicable guidance may continue to evolve. ASFNR Attendee Requirements

 

• ASFNR21 has adopted a “Vaccination Required” approach. This means all ASFNR21 attendees, speakers, moderators, exhibitors, and staff must provide proof of COVID-19 “full vaccination” to gain access to the meeting.  More detail about vaccines, timing, and documentation can be found at the end of this document.

 

• To maximize safety in the face of the delta variant, we will ALSO REQUIRE proof of a negative COVID-19 RNA or antigen test obtained within 3 days of your arrival to the meeting.  We anticipate that most of our attendees will be able to obtain this test through their hospital or university.  More detail on the requirements of the test, testing options, and documentation can be found at the end of this document.

 

• Details about specific protocols of the Eldorado hotel can be accessed HERE.

 

• Masks will be required in all meeting and exhibit locations. Masks will be available to attendees at the registration desk.  Social distancing in the main conference room will be observed.

Vaccine & COVID status verification details:

 

• For the purposes of right of entry to ASFNR21, a person is considered fully vaccinated: 

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or

  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine

• This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (i.e., Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines), and COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization (i.e., AstraZeneca/Oxford, Covishield, Sinopharm, and Sinovac), on or before July 26, 2021. • If an attendee, speaker, moderator, exhibitor and staff members do not meet these requirements, they are NOT considered fully vaccinated and will not be permitted to enter the ASFNR21 meeting.

 

• We will accept both RNA (viral load) and antigen COVID-19 tests obtained within 3 days of the first day of you arrival to the event.  Tests need to be performed on or after Wednesday September 15th.

COVID Vaccination Status

Step 1: Complete one of the following free options to validate vaccination status:

 

• Option 1: CLEAR Health Pass Validation  HealthPass is a free service offered by CLEAR just download the CLEAR app to your phone. CLEAR HealthPass FAQs

• Option 2: Email a photo of your vaccine card prior to the meeting to: Amanda@trifectaeg.com. Alternately, you can send the copy via a secure share site of your choice. These photos will be destroyed immediately following the meeting.

 

Negative COVID Test

 

• Email a pdf documenting your negative COVID test dated Sept 15th or later prior to the meeting to Amanda@trifectaeg.com. Alternately you can send the copy via a secure share site of your choice.

 

• Many companies offer COVID-19 home testing kits, including: CVS, Costco, and Azova,. Please plan in advance to obtain these kits to comply with the 3 day time window.
